More Red

1997 FXD Dyna Super Glide

It should be obvious why the bike is called "Simply Red". A monochrome color scheme turns is quite an eye catcher. No exotic paint scheme is required to get your attention.

The simple looks of the bike provide no clues to the potential the engine has is this bike. After a little tuning this bike developed 64 horsepower with the CV carburetor, stock cam and a set of HD slash cut mufflers. Changing the cam to an Andrews EV-46 bumped the power up to 74 horsepower. That was a pretty good number for basically a stock EVO engine.

97fxd_left.jpg (15198 bytes) Want to know a secret! This engine is now producing 82 horsepower at the rear wheels. Matched with the 86 ft. lbs. of torque, the bike is a very potent street machine. Maybe not a "wolf in sheep's clothing", but if you choose to challenge this bike at a stop light, be sure that you are well tuned!
