There are two primary differences between the original Variable IED's and the new AFXIED design.
This IED is about the size of a pack of gum and it requires +12v for the
AFR display. No cutting of
the OEM wiring harness is required. So while the installation takes a
little more time than the original IED's, it is still a very simple
install/removal procedure.

indication of any problem with the engine or the IED’s.
